I’m Hotaka Iwami, a London‑based architectural designer under the High Potential Individual Visa. I was former PhD Fellow at Kyoto University. Most recently, I coordinated lighting simulation and fabrication of opera set in Naples (2024) as collaboration arichitect of Kengo Kuma and a member of Veluxlab, bringing adaptable, high‑level design skills to international teams. I spent a full year at Tadao Ando Architects (2018‑19) honing rigorous craft, then broadened my outlook with internships at Cabanon Vertical in Marseille (2019) and Atelier Tsuyoshi Tane in Paris (2021‑22). My diploma project “The Lake and Surfaces” earned Kyoto University’s 2021 Excellence Award, while separate studio work gained the Engineering Dean’s Award in 2022
